2. Contrary to the provision of the preceding paragraph, any operator of a glider with airworthiness certification under Article 10-(2) paragraph 2, may use it for air navigation after effecting repairs or modifications to the same extent as specified in the preceding paragraph, provided that the said repairs and modifications are inspected and passed by the Designated Airworthiness Inspector.

 

3. The proviso of Article 11 paragraph 1 shall apply accordingly to Article 16, paragraph 1.

 

4. When as a result of an inspection under paragraph 1 or 2, the aircraft concerned complies with the standards of Article 10, paragraph 4 specified by Ordinances of Ministry of Transport, the Minister of Transport or the Designated Airworthiness Inspector shall regard it has having passed the inspection.

 

(Spare Part Certification)
Article 17. Any operator of an aircraft certified as airworthy is entitled to have spare parts such as engines, propellers or other devices critical for aircraft performance and safety (and which are specified by Ordinances of the Ministry of Transport), certified by the Minister of Transport.

 

2. The Minister of Transport shall, when an application for spare part certification is submitted, inspect whether the said spare parts comply with the standards of Article 10 paragraph 4 subparagraph (1) and shall issue spare part certification when the spare part is determined to meet the said standards.

 

3. Components shall be regarded as spare part-certified, in the application of paragraph 1 of the preceding Article, provided that the component satisfies conditions in paragraph 1 and comes under the following categories.
(1)Components which comply with the standards stipulated in Article 4 paragraph 1, as confirmed by personnel qualified under the statutes of Article 20 paragraph 1, subparagraph 4, who inspect manufacturing and completion conditions in accordance with the Ordinances of the Ministry of Transport.
(2)Aircraft components which comply with standards stipulated in Article
10 paragraph 4 subparagraph 1, as confirmed by personnel qualified under the statutes of Article 20 paragraph 1 subparagraph 1, in accordance with the Ordinances of the Ministry of Transport.
(3)Components which comply with the standards stipulated in Article 10 paragraph 4 subparagraph 1, as confirmed by personnel qualified under the statutes of Article 20 paragraph 1 subparagraph 5, who repair or modify the said components, in accordance with the Ordinances of the Ministry of Transport.
(4)The imported components specified by Ordinances of the Ministry of Transport.
